Expanding his concert activities to a new audience, Eliot Fisk recently performed at the famous Panorama Community outside of Seattle, Washington.
Sponsored by Rosalie and Don Melnick to celebrate the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary, the concert attracted an overflow crowd.
Rosalie Melnick, Eliot’s 11th grade biology teacher, described the event as follows:
“I simply cannot find adequate words to express our appreciation for the tremendous concert you presented for our anniversary and for our wonderful friends at Panorama. I know it was absolutely the most magnificent music performance we have ever experienced. We are deeply appreciative of your willingness to do this for us.
Since the concert cards have been arriving, e-mails, phone calls and personal comments from people who attended the concert. They were overwhelmed by your performance. (Thursday in the grocery store alone, eight people stopped me to say the most wonderful things about you and your playing, and to express appreciation for us for making the concert possible and for sharing the experience with others.) Several people have even called or spoken to me about their regret for not being able to attend the program. It has been the talk of the community, that is for sure! Many have said that it is by far the most magnificent performance they have experienced in their life.
Not only was the auditorium/theater full but so was the lobby, with some folks being too late to fit even there. From what I have learned, the sound was transmitted to them through a quality Bose system and sounded magnificent. Then for the visual part, Catherine apparently did not just run the camera with one perspective, but she alternated with focusing on your face at times, your hands much of the time and the whole view the rest of the time. Seeing your intense facial concentration and seeing your hands clearly were meaningful experiences for them.”
